India Bangladesh News: Bangladesh Army Chief Waqar-uz-Zaman has given a big statement amid the ongoing tension with India. He expressed his views on Bangladesh’s relations with India and China. In an interview given to the local newspaper, he said that Bangladesh’s relationship with India is one of give and take. Army Chief described China as a partner in the development of Bangladesh. He made it clear that Bangladesh will never go against India regarding India’s strategic interests, but he also stressed that the relations between the two countries should be fair.

‘Bangladesh depends on India in many ways’

Army Chief Waqar uz-Zaman said, “We are dependent on India in many ways. India is also benefiting from us. Many of their people are working formally and informally in Bangladesh. Many people from Bangladesh are seeking treatment. We buy a lot of products from them, so India also wants Bangladesh to be stable.” The Bangladesh Army Chief said that when countries try to benefit from each other, good relations should be based only on equality. He said, “People should not think that India is dominating Bangladesh or doing anything which is against our interests.”

‘China partner in development of Bangladesh’

This was the first interview of the Bangladesh Army Chief after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also mentioned the use of Chinese weapons in the Bangladesh Army. He said, “Friendship with all, no enmity with anyone… Our foreign policy is excellent. We have to move forward with balance. China is a partner in the development of Bangladesh. They (China) have a lot of investment in Bangladesh, so China is our It is very important for.”

Bangladeshi army uses Chinese weapons

Bangladesh Army Chief said, we are using many Chinese weapons. The Chinese weapons our Air Force and Navy are using are cheaper than others. According to the Daily Star report, earlier Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen had made it clear that his country would support Bangladesh’s independent foreign policy.
